POC #2: the office air conditioner
The AC unit in our office is a complete POC. It breaks down, on cue, every 2nd day... doesnt cool the whole day, but just around 6:00 starts giving off a blast of cold air!
Acc. to our finance department, we have spent so much on its maintenance in the last couple of months, that we would've been able to purchase a new one, had we waited. As things go, that money is down the drain, we dont have funds to get a new one, and the AC repair guy is making a fortune! A little more time, and im pretty sure he'll be able to send his family on a world tour thanks to us!
The repair guy comes around every two-three days, most of the time when the electricity is out.. so sits, waits for the electricity to come back on... bills us.. and leaves. Thats a problem when u call out service people, they cant work with no electricity, but still charge because they had to make the trip. On occasions where the electricity is actually there.. they make a few fixes (im convinced they make them just enough to last two days, after which it breaks down again!) and leave.
As im writing this, im sitting in my cubicle, that thanks to its contruction, is the hottest one around, with no AC... and a fan blowing warm air down directly on my face! So much for productivity!
