Generation Gap and Fusion

I went out to dinner at this wonderful place in Zamzama called Deja Vu.. Although it's been around for a long time, and sort of gotten out of the mainstream dining out, its still just as good. Anways, back to the the topic, there we were, enjoying a nice mean of steak and shrimp.. when in walks this family of six to have dinner there.

Before i continue, Deja Vu has the ambiance of this old american bar combined with a early reniessance(not sure im describing it right?) theme... complete with subdue'd lighting, picture's and posters on wall of America's greatest times and the wild wild west, 80's music and a fountain (that's why i think its a reneissance theme).

Now on with the story... in walks this family of six comprising of two kids, two men n two women. One of the women was quite aged dressed in black with a dupatta over her head (reminds me of a dadi figure) n the other was tending to the kids, also draped from head to toe in a duppata. The men were more interesting.. wearing shalwar qameez and sporting beards quaid-e-azam caps!

I just sat there, trying to figure out howcome they're not giving any 'fatwa' against the place, since the songs on the speakers system were very modern (80's including a couple of rnb and gangsta rap).

A colleage of mine remarked at that point "seeing them only two words come to mind... Generation Gap and Fusion" Generation gap between them and the other people having their dinner there and fusion of a totally eastern family in a pretty western establishment! Guess everyone has the right to enjoy their food.
