Wedding invitation. Venue: Central Jail Karachi

Yesterday, while surfing the news channels, i saw this piece which i just had to share! A wedding took place a couple of days ago, with the reception at Central Jail. Why? Because the parents of the bride (or groom, didnt catch that) were incarcertated for life and couldnt attend their child's wedding. Even given the venue, it was a festive occasion, with dowry on display and people dancing away outside the gates.

Apparently, it was arranged by the jail authorities for them. The news item ended with the line that Central Jail has now started making efforts to have such activities for their life imprisoned criminals.

Its a start.... hopefully in time, human rights would also be provided to those imprisoned and especially those imprisoned falsely.
